Sep 3 2009	Autumn Term Begins The First Day of Term For all pupils, this is Thursday 3rd September. Parents should bring their children into the playground by 8:45 am. At this time, the class teacher will come to meet the children. Parents can then go to the school hall to purchase a dinner card (if needed) or simply go home.

Oct 2 2009	Harvest Festival Harvest Festival Creature Competition On Friday 2nd October, we will be holding our annual harvest festival services. We always have a collection to help children in two schools near the city of Brasov, Romania. The main feature of the service is the harvest festival creature competition in which children can make and enter a harvest creature using only natural things. These could be wood, fruit, vegetables, grasses, flowers, etc. The creature can be real or imaginary! Parents are invited to attend.

Nov 24 2009	Parent Consultation Evening - Late Appointments Parent Consultation Evening A few days before the consultation evenings you will be sent a booking form offering various appointment times. Following receipt of this, we will send you a confirmation slip. We will try to put brothers and sisters at similar, convenient times. At this first consultation evening of the year, we would like to hear from you about how your child has settled into the class and any other information that will help us to make the year successful. In line with our partnership agreement, attendance at these meetings should be given the highest priority. Please keep to your ten-minute slot. If required, a longer appointment can be made for another time. Please speak to the class teacher about this.

Dec 4 2009	Northmead PA Christmas Fayre 3:15 - 5:30pm It is important that you note that children will NOT be supervised by teachers or office staff from 3:15pm, and it is your responsibility to come to school at the usual time to meet them and attend the Fayre.

Mar 24 2010	Music Festival Guildford Schools Music Festival As always, Northmead pupils will be taking part in the annual music festival. This will be at Dorking Halls. Please make sure you obtain information about this if your child is involved.

Mar 30 2010	Decorated Egg Assembly Decorated Egg Competition This competition, on 30th March, has a long tradition at Northmead, but we never cease to be amazed by the children’s ingenuity. They may decorate a single (blown or boiled) egg or place one or more eggs in an imaginative setting. There’s usually a few egg puns within the title that children choose for their work!

Jul 13 2010	New Year Three Parent Induction Evening 6:30pm This is an essential evening for all parents of children joining us in September 2010 including those with children already attending Northmead. It is your chance to hear more about Northmead, what is expected from yourselves, and meet your child’s teacher. Please make sure that your child is represented at this meeting even if you already know the school well.

Jul 19 2010	Exhibition Evening Exhibition Evening A great deal of effort goes into this evening to show parents the wonderful achievements of the children during the year. It is a real celebration of the children’s work, with performances from the choir and musicians. Year 6 children help run a café during the evening.
