Northmead Junior School, Guildford

Background to Northmead

Northmead is a large junior school serving the community of Stoughton in North Guildford. We are a Foundation School (formerly Grant Maintained) which means that the Governing Body owns the land and buildings, is responsible for its employees and has its own admissions policy.

The original 1935 school is now almost completely rebuilt and offers some of the best accommodation of any state school in Surrey. This includes spacious and airy classrooms, a main hall, a learning and language unit, a dance/drama studio, an ICT suite, a technology building, a large and well-stocked library, and a modern kitchen and offices. The grounds are extensive, with many green spaces, a vast playground with adjoining floodlit all-weather pitch and adventure areas. There is a large school playing field with new, purpose built changing accommodation.
